In addition to sponsoring, many of our supporters like to give for projects that impact the children’s well-being and bring joy into their lives.
You can choose your donation amount for any of the projects featured below. You can also multiply your impact over time by choosing a frequency on the dropdown menu at check-out. When we all pitch in, even the challenging projects get done!
These are projects we hope to raise donations for this year.
Five homes are in need of solar panels. As the cost of electricity rises, power insufficiencies affect children’s daily life: blackouts, night safety, ability to access water, and capacity to pay electrical bills for an entire home.
$6,800 provides solar for one home.
Balavikasitha needs to expand their kitchen and dining hall at the girls’ home in order to have the room and means to cook for their girls.
$13,334 would cover this need.
Bridge of Hope is home to more than 60 children as well as 180 plus children from the community who receive support from their services. They have asked for funding for 4 projects that would affect all of the children under their care.
Garden of Eden is home to 45 children. They are currently in need of adding more beds so that each child has their own place to sleep. $5,220 funds 15 bunk beds complete with mattress, sheets, pillow and mosquito netting. They also need solar panels to provide power for the water pump that serves the entire home for cooking, bathing and chores.
$5,823
Acts of Mercy uses animal rearing as a way to ensure their 130 children have enough food to eat and a system for the home to make money off of farm sales. They would like to increase their chicken and rabbit farming as well as allowing children vocational training on agriculture.
$3,334
The biggest need for Casa Hogar and Nueva Creacion is food security. Please partner in ensuring that these children have access to nutritious food throughout the year.

Macecall is home to 52 children. They are currently experiencing food insecurity with the rising costs of food, education fees and utilities for the home. Loretta met David Purviance on a chance trip in 2006, while seeking to be of service to the vulnerable children in India. Since then, Loretta has been a longtime supporter of World’s Children as a donor, sponsor, and previous Board member. She had the wonderful opportunity to return to India twice to visit several World’s Children orphanages, and even identified the Happy Home orphanage and petitioned to bring it into the WC family. Loretta raised funds to build a well at Happy Home, where it now has clean water for all the children and staff.
Loretta currently works with the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services as the Program Manager for the six Medical Hubs – the child abuse evaluation clinics for the County. She also serves as the Program Manager for the County’s Gender Health Program, serving patients seeking gender-affirming care in a safe environment. Before her work with Los Angeles County, Loretta spent many years serving non-profit organizations in CA and in MN, her last as the Executive Director of a statewide non-profit in MN. She has a long history of volunteer work including Board Member and Board Chair service, grant writing and fundraising experience, program development, and creative leadership, all serving our most vulnerable and disenfranchised populations.
Loretta holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Services, a Master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology, and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. She lives in Los Angeles County with her partner, Myck, and their rescue kitties, Scooter and Thunder.
