Clothes for Kids in Ethiopia

India is not the only country where World’s Children provides help.DSC00124

Bridge of Hope is an Ethiopia-based non-profit non-governmental organization founded 2001 to provide holistic support to orphaned and highly vulnerable children in Gondar City and the surrounding areas of Amhara Regional State.

The high mortality rate of orphaned children below age 5 is due to severe poverty and lack of parental care. Bridge of Hope has intervened to provide holistic support to those children for the last fifteen years, during which time many children’s lives have been improved thanks to the generous financial support of BOH donors. However, over time that financial support has declined and Bridge of Hope has been searching for other funding sources.

At the end of 2013 BOH established a partnership with World’s Children to raise funds for the children of Amhara. Now up to fifty-five children have obtained sponsors through World’s Children. This has helped alleviate BOH’s financial problems and now a new project has been launched for the benefit of the orphan population.

Clothing is one of the basic needs of all human beings, especially during summer season when the demand for it becomes serious. BOH decided to develop a one-time project in collaboration with World’s Children to raise funds to purchase cloth, clothing and shoes for girls and boy orphans. The project is still open for your donations. The needs continue. Please donate what you can.

Thanks for your thoughtfulness for the children in Ethiopia. Unfortunately World’s Children can’t ship supplies to Ethiopia because of customs and cost of shipping. We wire them money and they buy the supplies in their country. Perhaps there is a program that helps homeless children in your area. There is so much need around our world and we so appreciate your giving heart!
